Ah, the inflation of media.
Pictures are edited and locations are sought and angles are twisted and then ... we share it. We share hand crafted documentations of "this is me!!" when in reality we all know none of this is really real.
Travel is hard. It's expensive and you have to say no to a lot of really great things. It tests the patience of patient people. It requires decisions and commitments to plans, with new plans getting thrust in every direction. Sometimes it's lonely. And sometimes, it's the best frigin thing in the whole world.
It's full of sun and cool rooftops and hikes to views you'll never witness again and fun culture shocks and inside jokes with friends and dinners that take over restaurants and spans of time filled with nothing but happy!!
But life - true, daily life - isn't always sunshine. It's also not always gloomy days. It's a balance. And we can either resonate on the circumstances or we can wake up and start recognizing our own presence, and deal with how we react to the act of balancing.
If the sky is out today, wave it hello and bless its Creator.
If you're hating your summer job with no way of reaching the outdoors until the clock strikes 5pm, cherish the learning and the gift of work.
We're all out to get something we don't have, without realizing someone else is only craving that one thing we're taking for granted.
Carry on. Pursue. Rest when you need it. Have faith when you need it more. We're all just humans...being.
HEYO. I'm Chlo.
So the basic gist is I’m really just tired of comparing myself to perfect people on the Internet, when I know for a fact that "perfect" doesn't exist. This here is a snippet of my inner thoughts and tidbits of experience, based on my twenty-something years of good ole fashioned, really really messy life.
My wish is for this blog to serve the small voices inside all of us that might have forgotten what being honest online can look like. Leave the hustle behind you, because this here is about HEART.
