Someone, somewhere is waiting for something created by you to exist.
Sometime soon another human will come across something made by you and they will love it. And they may or may not know that it was you behind that love, and it’s okay either way. But it exists. Whatever it is.
It exists because you followed God’s call to make it.
Following the passion the Lord’s calling you to follow isn’t selfish — it’s an act of worship. To embrace our unique spiritual gifts will present opportunities we could not ever have created without the Holy Spirit stirring that passion inside of us.
If you’re feeling convicted to pursue something and deep down you’re scared it’s selfish, ask yourself where the passion is rooted.
If you’re chasing fame, wealth, or earthly security — honey, dats da devil. But if you’re chasing relation, service, love, and joy, HELLO JESUS. And it’s ok to pursue the things that will glorify Him. It’s really the only purpose worth pursuing.
If at the end of the day you’re still sitting inside holding back in restlessness, fearful of what everyone might think, consider this post a virtual hug. You gots at least one friend already.
Hi, I'm Chlo.
I've been writing stories inspired by my real and imaginative experiences since I learned at age 7 that if you fold and staple construction paper together, it sort of looks like a real book. I have always craved soul serving stories- ones that melt like butter in your mind as you hear your heart explained out loud.
This here is my home away from home. When I'm not exploring neighborhood coffeehouses, driving down the Pacific Coast (again), or loving on all my people - I'm probably here, with you. Come on in! Scroll around. I hope you feel less alone.
