The world likes to define us into one little box.
This is what you look like. This is your career. This is what you enjoy, what you hate, what you can't possibly care about. This is who you're friends with. This is how you'll react. This is what your grade should be. This is good enough.
It's okay to embrace your side hustle.
That project you open on your laptop during class.
That community you can't wait to get back to.
That thing-that-makes-you-come-alive...which might not be your job.
You're allowed to invite it into your time.
There will always be somewhere else.
Existence grows, and it's gonna keep growing. The pins will keep coming. The chances multiply, opportunities exponentiate, preparations magnify.
I pray you never succumb to the concept of "supposed to."
That what you are doing right now is not meant exactly for you to be doing. That what your heart longs for might not align with the median. That giving yourself rest is not needed. That a decision for your day is everyone else's priority but not your own. That your continuation is set, never meant to veer or swerve, to dip or sweep higher.
Hi, I'm Chlo.
I've been writing stories inspired by my real and imaginative experiences since I learned at age 7 that if you fold and staple construction paper together, it sort of looks like a real book. I have always craved soul serving stories- ones that melt like butter in your mind as you hear your heart explained out loud.
This here is my home away from home. When I'm not exploring neighborhood coffeehouses, driving down the Pacific Coast (again), or loving on all my people - I'm probably here, with you. Come on in! Scroll around. I hope you feel less alone.
