It took me a while to discover, and grow an interest in, the act of listening to material read out loud. I've always listened to music, obviously. And I’d heard of audiobooks and radio shows before. In general, however, the concept sounded extremely boring. Why in the world would I want to listen to another human’s voice talk to me about something? It’s not an active conversation. It can’t possibly be entertaining; there’s also no way I could ever replace a good playlist with a podcast.
I hope you live like this.
Springing up everywhere, just as you are.
Hey! Don’t be consumed with where you are “not” right now, ok?
Right now, I happen to be on the west coast, hangin with family for the next week and a half. A few days ago I was crying on my bedroom floor calling friends because I felt out of control.
What does it mean, really, to build something big?
Well, at one point a long time ago, one brick, one nail, one piece made an impact — its own impact, different than any impact made before it — on a firm foundation. That one brick, nail, piece sat alongside a lot of other bricks, and nails, and pieces. Together, they grew.
Today I had a panic attack. And it matters a lot to me that I share that with you here.
As humans we live with (or at least, ought to live with) the right to privacy, with the additional right to decide who we let in. Now don’t get me wrong, I definitely don’t share 100%. I also respect you, as a stranger or friend, and your right to remain private. Opening up isn’t everyone’s burning desire.
Hi, I'm Chlo.
I've been writing stories inspired by my real and imaginative experiences since I learned at age 7 that if you fold and staple construction paper together, it sort of looks like a real book. I have always craved soul serving stories- ones that melt like butter in your mind as you hear your heart explained out loud.
This here is my home away from home. When I'm not exploring neighborhood coffeehouses, driving down the Pacific Coast (again), or loving on all my people - I'm probably here, with you. Come on in! Scroll around. I hope you feel less alone.
