We are best steered by the guidance of His will when we are already in motion.
Think about it.
Pulling along a cranky, defeated, “ugh”-kinda minded human and delivering them to sanctification and all the good stuff that life has to offer does not sound reasonable to ask of anyone. Why ask it of our God? Of our glorious and magnificently GOOD and gracious God?
Why do we assume we can get away with the daily habits of swirling our every conversation around our own, self righteous worry?
Who do we think we are, to deserve to be saved, if all we do is mope?
Well the good news and the spoiler to this story is that nope - we don’t deserve even an ounce of good and gracious love from any source at all, but Jesus came and stayed here for a bit one time and kind of changed the whole game. He gave that to us a n y w a y s. He just, followed. He taught and he praised and he questioned and he fought really hard to exclaim such good news to as many people as were meant to hear and...now?
It’s our turn to keep it going.
We have to start walking. Even if the path is really confusing and we don’t have good shoes and no clue what we need to conquer upcoming threats and our friends look like they have great shoes and know exactly what they’re doing and we seem to be only clueless wretches on this very confusing path. We have to go. We have to begin.
Where else can we grow besides living through unexpected circumstances? How else can our wheels turn us down a better path if they aren’t already in motion? When can we make really exciting life decisions if we aren’t out there, frigin livinggg our lifeee?
Friend do not stop here. Do not. Today is not your peak and if you need me to say it again I will say it again TODAY. IS. NOT. YOUR. PEAK. Use it how you know you can, pray for things you know you can’t, and give up the fight that it’s up to you to do it all on your own.
You are a warrior, but He fought before you. Before you even stepped foot in this battle.
And guess what? He won.
Hi, I'm Chlo.
I've been writing and reading and all the storytelling things since I learned as a kid that if you fold and staple construction paper together, it sort of looks like a real book. I have always craved soul serving stories- ones that melt like butter in your mind as you hear your heart explained out loud.
This here is my home away from home. When I'm not exploring neighborhood coffeehouses, driving down the Pacific Coast (again), or loving on all my people - I'm probably here, with you. Come on in! Scroll around. I hope you feel less alone.
